Connections Sunday - Mark your calendars for September 12.
Visitors & Members: Pr. Terri will be teaching "What Lutherans Believe" on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 on August 25, September 1,8, & 15. Examing central Christian doctrine from a Lutheran perspective, this class wil include the Trinity, the Creeds, interpretation of Scripture, salvation, Lutheran church history, the church year and our worship life. Both visitors and members are welcome to attend. Please let Pastor know if you plan to attend.
New Member Reception - October 3. If you have been a part of our worshipping community and wish to become a formal member of the congregation, we will receive new members on October 3rd at the 11:15 service. Following worship, new members will be served a luncheon where they will meet our council and staff members. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact Pastor Terri.
Taste of Habitat: September 24th, 7-9 pm at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta. Come join us in a fun evening of great food, warm fellowship, enjoyable entertainment and the return of Team Trivia and an awesome Silent Auction. All proceeds will benefit our 21st Habitat Home. Be a Chef - Chefs do not need a ticket. Be a Sponsor - Includes Event tickets and recognition in the program. We're Growing Stephen Ministers!
Each of us at some time in our lives has needed someone to walk with us through life's challenges. Can you be that person to share Christ's love with a hurting person? Then we want YOU to apply to become a Stephen Minister. This one-to-one minstry requires approximately 1-2 hours each week of listening and providing support. Ask nancy Hendrickson or Claudia Smith for more information, or go to www.stephenministry.org to learn more. Training will start the last weeek of September.
Teachers & helpers needed: for 4-6 week time commitments during Connections Hour.
Snack Person Needed: purchase, prepare and serve snacks for Sunday morning children's Connections Hour.

Fill the Box with Warmth
There is currently an urgent need for slightly used children's hats, gloves, jackets and clothes. It will begin snowing in September in the northwest and Native American children desperately need warm clothing so that they are able to go to school. The Native American Heritage Association has sent out this urgent plea for help. Once the clothing has been received, it will be distributed to a number of reservations. As you are preparing for the upcoming school year and looking through your children's clothing, please donate the items your children are no longer able to wear. The Social Concerns Committee will have a box available for your donations. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, it would be used to ship the box to NAHA.
