Stewardship allows us to be disciples of Jesus and to serve as his hands and compassion on earth to help those in need. It reminds us that everything we are and have were given to us by God and allows us to love others as we love ourselves in fulfillment of Christ’s commandment: "It is more blessed to give than to receive". By giving freely through responsible stewardship, we receive God’s grace and live in communion with the Holy Spirit.
Stewardship is central to our purpose, life, and education at Cross of Life Lutheran Church. It is taught in Sunday school to children, youth, and adults. It is incorporated into catechism, confirmation, adult baptism, and new member classes. In addition, the SHAPE Program (spiritual gifts assessment) helps members find their unique spiritual gifts to allow them to give of themselves through discipleship and stewardship. The stewardship ministry at Cross of Life helps to support the Great Commission.
